Twee Hanen, printed on one side only, hinges broken or weak, original pictorial boards, rebacked and corners reinforced, C.M.Van Gogh, 1898, all with colour lithographs throughout by Theo van Hoytema, the last two shaken with text becoming loose, a little rubbed, 4to & large oblong 4to, Amsterdam (3) Scarce works by the Dutch lithographer, known particularly for his illustrations featuring birds and his calendars. He apparently illustrated only 5 books; these three show the influence of Japanese woodcuts with the text incorporated at the foot of each image. The first and last mentioned items were published by the uncle of Vincent Van Gogh.
