Description

(Disney, 1950) An original concept painting by Mary Blair for Walt Disney's "Cinderella." After working for the Walt Disney Studios for nearly a decade, Mary Blair's bold color palettes won her much acclaim. During the 1950s Walt Disney personally extolled Blair's conceptual work and color styling, utilizing her to set the tone for the first three animated features of the decade including "Cinderella", "Alice in Wonderland", "Peter Pan", in addition to several theatrical shorts. Mary's early concepts have been regarded as some of the most important works of art to come out of the Studio during her era and highly acclaimed by collectors. This concept for Cinderella is accomplished in gouache, with a painted image size of 9.5"x9" on 10.75"x10" artists board. It is in very good condition, with some surface wear and pinholes.
