Description
Lot of (3) mid to late 19th C. Meiji period Japanese carved ivory Okimono includes: 4 1/2" (height) x 2 1/2" (length) young boy with basket & staff mounted onto wood base: 5" (height) x 2 1/4" (length) standing man mounted onto wood base & 5 1/4" 9height) x 2 1/2" (length) man carrying a wheat stalk. CONDITION: Young boy has small loss on top hair portion, possible loss at bottom portion of rope in right hand, seam cracks & reglued left arm. Standing man has cracks on both legs, loss on left foot, flower on base & strip on robe & repairs on strip attached to hand & robe. Man with wheat stalk has been cracked & reglued on both legs at ankles, has a broken off staff that attached from hand to base, seam cracks & loss around collar. NO INTERNATIONAL OR CALIFORNIA SHIPPING. The ivory in this item complies with the Endangered Species Act 1973 which are currently the law in the United States. It is our opinion that this item was made before 1973 and that the ivory has not been altered and is legal to sell in the United States unless your state has additional restrictions.
Condition
Young boy has small loss on top hair portion, possible loss at bottom portion of rope in right hand, seam cracks & reglued left arm.
