CURRIER AND IVES CIVIL WAR HISTORICAL PRINT, hand-colored lithograph on paper, titled "Death of Col. Ellsworth" with publication date of 1861, depicting the assassination of Union Col. Elmer Ellsworth In Alexandria, VA by Confederate sympathizer, James W. Jackson, who is, in turn, killed by Corp. Francis E. Brownell. Housed under glass in a 19th-century figured maple frame. Circa 1861. 13 1/4" x 10 1/4" sight, 18 1/4" x 15 1/4" OA.
