Description
A PRE-COLUMBIAN POLYCHROME POTTERY VESSEL, MAYAN, LATE CLASSIC PERIOD, 550 A.D.- 950 A.D., of slightly bulbous form with thin even walls, painted with three large registers of red, cream and black. Height: 5 1/2" Diameter: 6" NOTE: Vessels like these were often used to store liquids, even used as drinking cups.
Condition
In overall decent condition, with minor inpainting. The piece has been restored from roughly 5 or 6 pieces. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
