Ancient Rome, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely hand blown glass double unguent of striking aqua blue hues with areas of silvery and rainbow iridescence. Elegant trailed handles and applied rigaree wrapping around the conjoined unguents make for a fabulous design aesthetic. Wealthy women in ancient Roman times would use these pieces to contain their precious oils, perfumes, or cosmetics. Beautiful form and coloring! Size: 3" W x 5" H (7.6 cm x 12.7 cm)
