Burger Co. notes that the painting is entitled "Old Man", registry no. 75871. In a grey wooden frame with red and gold highlights. Attached biography verso notes that Funke was born in Essen / Ruhr. He attended the School for Arts and Crafts in Essen and the Academy of Arts in Kassel. Served as an active war painter during World War II capturing scenes in France, Lithuania, Latvia, Rumania, Poland, and Hungary. After the war he became a freelance artist. MEASUREMENTS: 11-1/4" x 9". Overall with frame 19" x 17". CONDITION: No defects noted.
