Christ Crucified, a Roman soldier piercing His side, the cross with the Titulus Crucis and flanked by the thieves, Mary Magdalene grasping the base of the cross, soldiers crowding the composition, Mary and John left foreground, likely a central tableau for an altarpiece with two keyholes bottom relief carved, polychromed, parcel gilt wood panel, 40 x 27-1/4 in.; in gilt wood frame, 44-3/4 x 32-1/2 in. Note: The carvings bear some influence from the Cheb region which boasted such carvers as Hans Maler von Eger.
