Description: 19th Century Chinese Wood Statue of a Mongolian Temple Guard. Mongol styled warrior carved from a single piece of light, pine type wood. The Statues hat, boots, over coat and short sword are all Mongol in depiction.
History: In 1206, Genghis Khan was able to unite or conquer the Mongols, forging them into a fighting force which went on to create the largest contiguous empire in world history, the Mongol Empire.
