Description
Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Nayarit / Jalisco, ca. 200 BCE to 300 CE. Attractive pair of pottery vessels, starting with a smallish squat olla with repeating nodes on the shoulders painted off white, with tall neck and flaring rim. The other is a small bowl with two bands of repeating circular designs and twin bands of red/white rules. Size represents largest - Size: 4.5" W x 3.25" H (11.4 cm x 8.3 cm).
Provenance: Ex-estate of Paul and Louise Bernheimer, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA - acquired before 1980
