After Pompeo Girolamo Batoni Italian (1708-1787) "The Penitent Magdalene". A finely painted Dresden porcelain oval plaque from a part of the famous painting, "The Penitent Magdalene Reading a Book in a Grotto." This plaque is from the King's Porcelain Manufactory, KPM, Dresden, Circa 1870 and measures H. 7" x W. 5.5". The frame measures H.17.25" x W.10.5" x D.2.5" Decorator's paper label for "Henry Bucker, Painter on China, 5 Pragerstrasse 5, Dresden" on the back. Sculpted gilt wood frame from the end of 18th-beginning of the 19th century.

Good. The porcelain plaque is in very good condition, never damaged, never repaired. The frame has been repaired and needs more restoration, the gold leaf is worn. Some areas are cracked, broken, some small parts are missing, but can be used as is..
