Description
Beautiful find by our collector is this KPM plaque done in the manner of Carlo Dolci by Henry Bucker, Dresden artist who was an honorable mention in The London Exhibition in 1862. This oval porcelain is of the Mother Mary and is in an antique jeweled frame. Attached to the back under a piece of saran wrap and then taped on is a "Price Medal" from the 1865 Exhibition Dublin. The impressed scepter and KPM mark are at the top of the back as well as impressed number 5 and what appears to be a stylized F. Also note in black paint 1320 and C D twice. Oval porcelain measures approx 10 3/4" x 8 3/4", frame approx 12 1/4" x 10 1/4". From the Don LeMasters Estate.
Condition
Excellent condition, did not remove from frame and did not look under the Price Medal for any additional marking. Frame does have some flaking of the gold paint.
