Gandhara, 1st to 5th century CE. This is a grey schist head of a bodhisattva with a large headdress and a deep frown. Gandharan Buddhist art retains some of the style of Hellenistic Greece from the conquests of Alexander the Great. Size: 2" L x 2.6" W x 3.2" H (5.1 cm x 6.6 cm x 8.1 cm).
