Description
Italian School, 19th century. "Narcissus", patinated bronze, unsigned, foundry mark to base for Fonderia Bucciono Napoli. Grand Tour figural sculpture after the Classical antiquity depicting Narcissus as a nude male in standing with finger pointed up, opposite hand wrapped around animal pelt, wearing sandals. Unmarked. Approximate height 24.25", diameter of base 9".
Condition
Sculpture overall in good condition. Mild patination wear concentrated to front of figure around legs and groin. Oxidation to underside commensurate with age. No apparent cracks, fractures, or losses.
