Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Personal-sized altar used to make offerings to one of the many pantheon of Roman and Greek gods. Deep indention in center, one side showing that it was once inscribed. Size: 5" H x 3-3/8" W (12.7 cm x 8.6 cm).
Provenance: Ex-estate of the late M. Reiniger, Chicago, IL acquired at Harlan J. Berk, Ltd.
