Description
Cambodia, possibly Samrong Sen, ca. 500 to 200 BCE. This is an iron tool that looks very similar to ones from the Samrong Sen transitional late Bronze Age/early Iron Age archaeological site in Cambodia. The tool has a furled, hollow shaft for attaching to a piece of wood as a handle; this was probably a small adze. Unfortunately there is very little known about Cambodian archaeology because much of it was destroyed by the Khmer Rouge; luckily there has been renewed exploration in the past two decades and hopefully soon we will learn more about this fascinating time period! Size: 7.4" L x 2" W (18.8 cm x 5.1 cm).
