A Pair of Chinese Cinnabar Covered Vases, Early 20th Century.
Both cinnabar vases have flared rims, and in the middle of each vase is a carved vignette of scholarly figures in a mountainous landscape, the rest of the body has a floral motif. Both lids also have carved floral designs. The insides of the vases are painted in black lacquer. The vases are approximately 6 1/2 inches high, and each lid is 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Each vase has "CHINA" painted in red on the black base. The lids also have "CHINA" marked on them although it is mostly worn off on one lid. Condition: They are in good condition.
