Collection of letters, notes, telegrams and invitations from Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Household to Madame Isabelle Fowler, assistant to Royal couturier Sir Norman Hartnell. Includes an autograph letter signed ("Elizabeth R") reading "Thank you so much for your kind letter with its good wishes for my daughter's engagement, we are very happy about it. It does seem incredible that it can be 20 years since the Coronation and I am very grateful to you for all the wonderful work you did for me in making my dresses since then, and also for remembering the anniversary", one page, original franked envelope, 8vo , Windsor Castle, 16 June 1973; also included are black and white photographs of couples on their wedding day, the brides possibly wearing dresses made by Madame Isabelle, various sizes, 1950s-1976 (quantity) Provenance: the family of Madame Isabelle Fowler, who assisted Sir Norman Hartnell in making the dress the Queen wore at her Coronation on June 2nd 1953.
