A good ribbon-worked black taffeta robe de style, probably Lanvin, circa 1926, of black silk taffeta adorned with embroidered ribbons in shades of green and pink, with gold vermicular embroidery outlined in black cord, the skirt gently gathered over the hips, nude chiffon modesty panel to the front, large tulle bow to one hip, scalloped hem over tulle edging, bust 97cm, 38in

Generally good condition, deodorant markings at underarms and modesty panel has small faint brown spot stains. Taffeta is lustrous and fresh. Ribbonwork is superb and no obvious wear, colours are good. Bodice lining of pale pink silk is soiled around the rear neck area. Spot stain to front midriff area. Bad perspiration stains at underarms, and lining is split here – but corresponding black taffeta on exterior is fresh and good. Tulle tier at hem similarly is good.
