Description
Ancient Greece, Geometric Period, ca. 750 to 700 BCE. A lovely little solid bronze bird, probably a waterfowl, perched atop a hemispheric loop for suspension or attachment. The bird has very pronounced eyes and a small, sloped beak. His wings and tail extend back, adding to the personality and charm of the piece. A fine green patina covers the entirety of the figure. Size: 1-3/4"x 3/4" (4.4 x 1.9 cm)
