Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Protoclassic, ca. 100 BCE - 250 CE. Burnished pottery headrest finely modeled with an avian figure with arms/wings extended, the vessel resting on its splayed tail and spout. Wonderfully incised detailing highlighted with black pigment. A much better than average example! Size: 9"H x 8"W.
