. Japan, blade - Shinto
The blade: Shinto. The present could be a shorter form of a katana. Iorimune, shinogitsukuri, the hamon suguha, one ko-gissaki. The angel ubu with one nagako-ana, yasurime sujikai, the end mumei.
The mounting: late Edo period. The saya is in lacquer and presents a decoration of pine-needles, partially restored, kozuka lost. The kurigata with a yellow sageo (ribbon). Fuchi and kashira offering blooming prunus partially in gilt and set in deep reserves (some of which in a fan-form). The large menuki bearing finely crafted tatsu (dragons) with scales and in gilt. The tsuba is rounded and of trapezoid form, with one hitsu, and offers within a wavy border a mountainous landscape and blooms, partially done in golden nunome.
