A Christian Dior New York brocaded grey satin and tulle evening dress, early 1950s, labelled, with fold-over panels to the strapless bodice, large self-bow, ribbon sash waist ties, bust approx 86cm, 34in, waist 66cm, 26in Scarlett Johansson was photographed wearing this dress to attend the Nobel Committee banquet in Oslo in 2008.

Good condition, slight wear in tulle overlay at rear centre back waist closure. Dress has been taken in at the sides of the bodice by tacking folds of fabric in place. Faint perspiration stains at underarms on inside edges, generally dress looks fresh and good. Tulle is generally good with the occasional minor hole. Hem has been raised. Ribbon waist sash is later added.
