Christian Dior New York Emerald Green Silk Satin Cocktail Dress, c.1956. Labelled 'Christian Dior New York Inc.' and 'The French Shop /Stamford / Connecticut'.

Neckline of the dress resembles of the famous Dior dress photographed by Richard Avedon on Dovima with elephants in 1955, which was designed by Christian Dior's assistant Yves Saint Laurent.

Similar shape green satin dress from Fall 1956 couture collection is published in 'L'Officiel 1000 Models, Dior 60 Years of Creation'.
