Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. The ancients of the Americas created beautiful musical instruments out of pottery, most adorned with animal or human figurines, and the indigenous of Colima were no exception. Here we have lovely flute, of a substantive size, adorned with a sweet and petite lizard, and perforated with five finger holes to produce a wonderful variety of tones. Size: 13-1/4"L x 1-1/4" in diameter at widest.

Provenance: Ex-private Carlsbad, CA collection, acquired before 1990.

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
