Description
Cyprus, Punic / Phoenician rule, ca. 6th to 3rd century BCE. Medium-sized transport amphora used by Phoenician merchants to transport wine, oil and grains. Looking much like the "torpedo" name often given to this form. Twin handles near rim, clear wheel thrown pottery ridges and nice deposits. Nice example! Size: 27-3/4"L x 10-1/2"W (70,5cm x 26,7cm)to handles.
