Description
WE SHIP! The AEAA is very proud to present this handsome & exceptional tri-paw foot Celadon Jade censer with a round base, Qui (water) dragon handles with free slip rings, and the lid is adorned with 3 Taotie masks and free slip rings, plus another dragon as the finial. The dragon characteristics would appear to be Early Republic:please note that the surface finish is not that of the second half of the 20th century, as all of the slip rings are eccentric and the base openings and reticulations are all buffed smooth (no 1970's wheel-ground under-marks). We estimate this great treasure to be from the 1920-1935 era, AND a current on line listing at the Antiquarian Art Co. has a larger, yet exact pattern to ours, dated @ 1920, and asking $1,200. Our expert jade buyers will know for sure. It is in excellent condition with 1 small lid rim chip. It weighs 1#, and measures 4.75 x 2.75 x 4.5 inches tall, and has a custom hand carved base. This heirloom is from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford, noted dealers and lifelong collectors of valuable antiques.
