Second half 19th century, the oval ribbon and garland-molded carved giltwood frame crested by a mandolin and a cluster of roses, centered by an oval Aubusson tapestry depicting putti, one holding a bow, the other holding a quiver of arrows, within a laurel-wreath surround, raised on outswept acanthus-kneed legs terminating in scroll feet, 44.25'' H x 25.25'' W x 20'' D, est: $800/1200
Condition
Overall good condition. Fading to tapestry. General marks, scratches, rubbed wear and separation at joints commensurate with age. Legs somewhat loose. Scattered chips and nicks revealing gesso and red bole. With replaced linnenfold backing.
