Third quarter 19th century, the case signed in the bronze ''fait par / Caffieri'' after Jacques Caffieri (1678-1755 French) and stamped ''24'' and ''3492'', the two-train movement stamped with maker's conjoined monogram ''MCr(?)'' and numbered ''67072'' attached to pierced scrollwork gilt hands over a white enameled circular dial signed ''Raingo Fres. / a Paris'' for Raingo Freres, with applied black Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic minutes housed within a circular glazed aperture, centering a waisted, floral-embellished case surmounted by a putti holding an arrow, raised overall on pierced rocaille bracket-form feet, 17.5'' H x 10'' W x 5.75'' D, est: $2000/3000
Condition
Overall good condition. Four areas of chipping to enameled face; the largest approximately .5'' x .25'' at bottom edge. Lacking end of putti's arrow. General wear and darkening to gilt bronze commensurate with age. Working condition unknown; lacking pendulum. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks.
