Original edition. This rare and important work of the astronomer of Verona, elegantly printed by Ramanzini, was published posthumously by Eustachio Manfredi. Based on dense notes left by Bianchini, documenting the great work done by the author on the example of Cassini, who had drawn the great meridian through France: he decided therefore to do something for Italy, and he proposed to measure the meridian arc from the Adriatic to the Tyrrhenian Sea via Rome. DBI: \"He started his measurements in 1717; in 1724 ... he promised to give the public the work completed. He could not keep the promise. The results of so many efforts will be made public after his death by Manfredi ... Although the work of B. was not successful too precise ... will be useful indeed to Christopher Maire and Ruggero Boscovich when in 1755 he put in ... reforming two degrees of the meridian passing through the states of the Church. \"Riccardi ,:\" Rare and valuable \".
