Description
A pair of Daunian ceramic vessels, Italic, c. 4th - 3rd Century BC, the first a black-ware jar with tapered bottom and short flared mouth, the body decorated with parallel horizontal lines in dark slip. 4 ½ in x 5 in (11.4 x 12.7 cm). The second vessel is a jar, the round body with carinated edge and ring foot, the tubular neck with widely flared mouth. The vessel is decorated with parallel horizontal lines in red-brown slip over the tan or beige body. H: 4 ½ in (11.4 cm). Both vessels intact with light mineral deposits. Ex Orange County private collection.
