Description
Greece or Italy, but found in Turkey, ca. 300 to 200 BCE. Attractive molded pottery vessel, base with repeating palmettes and abstract animal forms, band of egg and tongue design at midsection. Size: 3-1/4"H x 4-1/2"W.
Provenance: Ex-private William Dale collection. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
