Description
ROBERT RITTER VON GREIM
(1892 - 1945) German Field Marshal and last head of the Luftwaffe, a Knights Cross winner involved in the invasion of Poland, the Battle for Norway, the Battle of Britain and Operation Barbarossa. His final words before taking cyanide were: "I am the head of the Luftwaffe, but I have no Luftwaffe." T.L.S. on official letterhead, 1p. large 4to., Dec. 10, 1937 to FRITZ TODT. Todt had recommended a man, "Kysper", to lead a military flying school, but von Greim does not believe that the man would be a suitable administration officer. He does recognize the man's practical abilities, but still postpones a decision on the subject. File holes at left margin, else very good.
