PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE BUTTER CROCK WITH COVER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with grooved arched handles and squared rim, brown-slip glazed interior, along with a well-fitting and appropriate cover. Brushed cobalt horizontal leaf decoration on both sides, additional cobalt at handle terminals, cover with brushed cobalt feathers at outer edge. Probably the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA. Circa 1870. 9" HOA, 8" H rim, 7 7/8" D.

Excellent condition, rim with two shallow outer-rim chips, short light hairline off rim, cover with moderate chip and flakes to inner flange and three small chips to finial.
