Description
[southern Iraq (perhaps Larsa dynasty) c .1850 BC.] Rectangular clay tablet, with 21 lines of Old Babylonian cuneiform on obverse and 23 lines on reverse, slight damage at corners with large chips and losses to parts of reverse, overall good and presentable condition, 105mm. by 55mm. by 25mm. From a Scandinavian collection, and acquired from them by the present owner several decades ago. This is an unusually large format for an administrative record. It lists measures of goods, such as fine meal, which were paid to millers working in a number of sites.
