Description

Pennsylvania Tall Case Clock. 14 in. painted iron dial with center seconds sweep, calendar, and moon. The pendulum is signed and dated L. Masgreave, 1797. Has painted fruit basket corner spandrels and moon phase with scenic view and sailing ship flying a United States flag; brass 8 day weight driven movement with anchor escapement, hour strike on a bell at the top of the movement. In a cherry case with broken arch crest having turned finials, turned corner columns on the bonnet, flame mahogany panels on the front and has a carved lower bracket with turned legs, cleaned & enhanced original finish. 105 in. high x 20 in. wide x 12 in. deep. The clock has a base which is removable which can make the clock under 8 feet tall.
