Description
The AEAA is very pleased to present this next piece of valuable Vaseline / Opalescent Vaseline glass from the respected David Morse collection. This lot represents a gorgeous 1899-1902 Northwood Opal Open (Beaded Panels) Vaseline Opalescent open ring stem compote, with fiery opalescence. Our example was shown in catalogs from 1899-1901, and is original. Dugan purchased the mold and in 1907, produced this compote in their Iridescent (Carnival) glass. There was a Fenton Glass reproduction of the Beaded Panels pattern for LG Wright in the 1950s, but the centers of the 2 rings are filled in with glass, making the Northwood open center examples the only legitimate antique. Our compote weighs 12 oz.,measures 6.75 x 6.75 x 4 inches tall, and is in wonderful condition.
