A Chinese White Jade Bhaishajyaguru Bodhisattva, 19/20th century, otherwise known as Yaoshi or the "Medicine Buddha" wearing a crown and jewels, seated on a lotus throne in front of a flaming mandorla, his right hand making the Bhumisparsha or "touching the earth" mudra, while the right hand holds a small medicine jar, with russet and black inclusions to the stone, paper label "Ex Collectis Erik Hancock" adhered to back, with small loss to medicine jar, approx. 17 by 10 cm, 2 3/4 by 4 in.
