Pre-Columbian, Latin & South America, Probably Mexico, Ecuador, & Peru, ca. 1000 BCE to 1500 CE. A collection of assorted stone and lava rock beads and pottery spindle whorls, that were perhaps gathered together over the years and strung on a modern monofilament wire and cotton thread as 2 strands. The beads can easily be restrung as wearable necklaces and the larger stones could be used as pendants. Size of largest stone bead: 2.42" Diameter x 1" W (6.1 cm x 2.5 cm)
Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

Nicks and chips throughout. Some have mineral or earthen encrustations, and root marks. Not wearable, but a good assortment for jewelry making.
