Description
A Monumental Maya Head Mesoamerica, Late Classic, c. 600-900 AD Limestone with trace remains of red and blue pigment. Just over life-sized portrait of a ruler or dignitary, wearing a large headdress composed of a thick segmented headband and another equally thick band with a circular medallion at front. The face with classic Maya features including bulging eyes, a large nose, thick lips parted with corners of the mouth downturned. In good condition, appropriate for age and materials, and being exposed outdoors. With a custom acrylic stand.
