Printed on Bank of New Zealand (1861-1992) watermarked paper, dated April 27, 1874 this third part receipt has an embossed tax stamp of One Shilling and Eight Pence. The document is made out for 225 Pounds, 14 Shillings and 1 Pence Sterling, and payable in 60 days at the Bank on 50 Old Broad Street, London, England. The document carries the Bank's coat of arms and an allegory of incorporation. The document was printed by Perkins, Bacon & Co. London (1822-1834). The Briggs were merchants and land owners in Sunderland, England and lived at Hylton Castle.
