American Renaissance Revival Inlaid Fireplace Surround and Mirror

third quarter 19th century, in the style of Herter Brothers, in two parts, the mirror frame with a looking glass beneath an oval panel with trophy inlay, adorned with burlwood panels with incised carving on a base with a Neo-Grec inlaid panel at the keystone, the frame inlaid with floral panels, the legs with carved pilasters flanked by inlaid curved corner panels, retaining its molded brass cover frame labeled: "Jackson & Sons".

**In good "as found" condition. The crown molding around the top is loose at the front right corner. The side moldings of the crown are missing on both sides. The wrap-around molding at the lower edge of the mirror has a small section missing to the left side. There appears to be little finish remaining to the mirror frame. It is a very impressive mantel.
