A Maori Jade Pendant (hei tiki) New Zealand, c. 1750-1800 Carved from translucent imperial green jade (nephrite), paua shell rings inlaid in deep eye sockets. The head cocked to the right, legs and arms deeply flexed, hands held to thighs. In good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and materials; lower right leg and suspension loop at top deficient.
