Description
Near East, Persia (Iran), Nishapur, ca. late 10th century to early 13th century CE. A dazzling earthenware plate displaying a ring-form foot, a shallow basin, and a flared rim, enveloped in a vivid sky-blue glaze with shimmering silvery and rainbow iridescence and 4 pairs of black striations along the rim. The underside and foot have been left bare with dense globules of glaze streaming down. Size: 6.2" Diameter x 1.5" H (15.7 cm x 3.8 cm)

Chipping to raised nodules in basin and small chip to foot. Weathering to underside and foot, commensurate with age, but otherwise, intact and excellent with stunning iridescence.
