Description
Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A ceremonial dagger called a kris with a forged-steel blade, a wooden guard protector, and a brass spacer disc and sheath jacket. The curving, abstract-form handle is hand-carved from dugong ivory and resembles an arching phytomorphic form. Size: 2.125" L x 7" W x 20.125" H (5.4 cm x 17.8 cm x 51.1 cm)

Condition
Sheath jacket adhered to bottom of guard protector, with a small gap between the 2 components. Handle with stable fissures commensurate with age, with minor oxidation to steel blade, and light tarnishing to sheath jacket. Nice sharpness to blade.
