Dating back to approximately 1879-1899, this item was among the maps showcased in the case of MORRIS v. UNITED STATES. The case revolved around property rights disputes involving numerous landowners and encompassed reclaimed land and dredging activities adjacent to the Potomac River. The disputed area comprised 600 acres located west of the Washington Monument, which included notable landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and Potomac Park. Ultimately, in 1899, the Supreme Court ruled against the landowners. This artifact from Washington, D.C., is in overall very good condition, with guaranteed authenticity.
