Georgian era, circa 1822 sterling silver cake basket by English silversmith Robert Gainsford, Sheffield. Hallmarks: (RG, lion, crown, King George IV duty mark, z date letter). Basket features four paw feet with scrolls and floral decoration, pierced wall and curved open-worked rim. Antique basket measures approx. 12-1/2" x 10-1/2" x 3-1/2" tall without swing handle. Very good condition with no major dings or dents. Basket bowl does have some scratches and small indentations. Bottom is personalized "The gift of her Godfather R. Landers, London". See images for more details on condition.
