A George IV sterling silver sugar basket, Birmingham 1820 by Matthew Boulton

Of vase form upon a spreading circular foot. The wire work body and foot with an opposable wire work handle with an applied central disc engraved with a crest of a Cornish chough with wings expanded. Fitted with an original ‘blown-in’ removable blue glass liner. Fully marked to the foot rim.
