Combo 2x Multi-Platinum Award for Reality Bites film soundtrack album and Gold certified Lisa Loeb single "Stay (I Missed You)" and Big Mountain remake of "Baby, I Love Your Way". The Lisa Loeb track was released on May 6, 1994 and certified Gold by the RIAA on July 12 that year, while Big Mountain's track was released Feb. 18, going Gold on June 20. The film soundtrack was released Feb. 1, 1994 and certified 2x Multi-Platinum on Aug. 30 that year for two million sold.

Reality Bites actor/director Ben Stiller chose the Lisa Loeb track after it was brought to his attention by film co-star Ethan Hawke. As shown on the Billboard chart plaque in the award, "Stay (I Missed You)" went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also nominated for a Grammy award. Bog Mountain's remake of the Peter Frampton's "Baby, I Love Your Way" went to #6 on the Hot 100, eclipsing Frampton's chart performance. The soundtrack album reached #13 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and charted on numerous other world markets. The soundtrack also featured music from The Knack, Squeeze, U2, and others. Loeb's single eventually went 2x Multi-Platinium.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Combo Track/Album 2x Multi-Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured around 1994, making it approximately 29 years old. It is presented to well-known radio personality and executive Scott Shannon from WPLJ New York, KQLZ Pirate Radio Los Angeles, Z100 New York and many other stations. A letter of provenance from Shannon will be provided with purchase as seen in images.

The award is in Excellent condition, with only very, very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It has its' original manufacturer sticker from Fitzgerald Hartley.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
