A GEORGE II SILVER TEA CADDY SET WITH A FITTED BOX
by Samuel Taylor, London 1751, comprising a sugar bowl and two tea caddies, all chased with borders of flowers and engraved with arms in a Rococo cartouche, the covers crested and with shell finials, in a fitted rosewood box with brass inlay. Caddies 13cm high, box 36cm long overall, 27 troy ounces gross
The caddies are marked on sliding bases, and the sugar bowl is marked under the base and cover. The caddies are in good condition with only some minor surface nicks. The box has some losses to wood veneer and brass inlay.
